The Framingham Heart study examined, among other things, the connection between heart health and relationships. “In men, keeping quiet during a fight didn’t have any measurable effect on health. But women who didn’t speak their minds in those fights were four times as likely to die during the 10-year study period as women who always told their husbands how they felt.”
That’s right: Women who don’t speak up in their relationships are not only more likely to feel depressed or experiences health problems—they are 4 times more likely to DIE.
What sorts of thoughts, feelings, or expressions do you typically withhold from your partner? How could you start speaking the truth—for your health?
